What do you think of this piece from my story?

Well, I write a lot and have found the same problem that you claim to have had earlier (being too descriptive) and so I completely understand what you're talking about. I think that this is definitely a good style, it gives you an image without telling you every little insignificant detail about it. I like this style quite well, actually. :)
